Personal Statement
Hello,
What was the last issue that caught your attention? What is something you’re interested in learning? For me, it was understanding people and how they interact in society. Also, how I can best help students express their interests and passions in ways that show their personalities.
This has been evident since interning, volunteering, and working on several projects in college. I graduated from Malone University in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in History. On campus, I was a writer for the newspaper, The Aviso and active in the Office of Multicultural Services as a student leader and mentor.
My goal and passion is to raise the next generation of Christian communicators. As a student and graduate, I’ve used my skills in writing and speaking. I’ve gained insight into people’s lives through informative interviews for articles and class projects. My biggest project was for my History Senior Seminar class where I interviewed campers and camp counselors of Canton Ohio’s Christ Presbyterian Church’s Camp Wakonda. The project’s focus was finding community in an era where the younger generation feels lonely and how the camp provides it.
I also interviewed college students pursuing their interests and passions on and off-campus and organizations dedicated to spreading the gospel and building strong Christian communities. I’ve written articles for Malone’s campus website, Koinesune Magazine and CrossPolitic News. As a volunteer for TWR (Trans World Radio), I am also writing stories about missionary appointees.
In my local community, I’m a classroom aide at My First School, a ministry of Cornerstone Church of Aurora. I help with various play activities, snack time, social and emotional learning. Similarly, as a volunteer at Parkside Church, I’ve led play time activities, snack time, distributing lessons, bible verse memorization, and recreational activities.
These experiences have helped me develop a passion for helping young people improve their communication skills.

Thank you and have a blessed day.
