History of Camp Wakonda
My History Senior Seminar class embarked on a historical research project on the history of Christ Presbyterian Church's Camp Wakonda. We interviewed former campers and camp counselors about their experiences at the camp and compiled information into a slides presentation and presented it to the church December 4, 2022.
Process

Class visited the church weekly for researching and archiving pamphlets, brochures and videos.

Sought out interviews from campers and camp counselors.

Worked with professor to create a slide presentation based on information from primary sources and a secondary sources (e.g. Bowling Alone by Robert Putman and IGen by Jean Twenge.)

Used sources to complete history project on why young people need Camp Wakonda and why community is important.

Shared presentation with the church's Sunday School class on December 4, 2022.​
